Award-winning Hayden Ferry Lakeside Signs Two New Retail Tenants
SunCor Development Company Welcomes City Market and Deli and Segway of Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. (Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009) – Tempe-based, SunCor Development Company has signed two new retail tenants, City Market and Deli and Segway of Tempe. The two companies plan to move into the Retail Office Lofts, a three-story office and retail building, at the award-winning Hayden Ferry Lakeside project on Tempe Town Lake.

“We listened to the desires of our residents and commercial tenants about the amenities and services they want at Hayden Ferry Lakeside, and then went after retailers that fit,” said Tom Knoell, SunCor Development Company project manager. “City Market and Deli and Segway of Tempe are the perfect tenants to bring added life and convenience to our project.”

City Market and Deli will lease more than 2,000 square feet of space on the first floor of the Retail Office Lofts building and is set to open at Hayden Ferry Lakeside this spring.

In addition to having a fresh salad bar, the upscale convenience store will sell gourmet New York style sandwiches and high-end domestic beer and wine.

“We were initially attracted to Hayden Ferry Lakeside by the beauty of the buildings and the vision of the project,” said Steve Putrus, City Market and Deli owner. “Hayden Ferry Lakeside is the perfect location for us based on the quality of tenants and businesses in the development.”

Segway of Tempe will move into approximately 1,000 square feet of space on the first floor of the Retail Office Lofts building. Hayden Ferry Lakeside will be home to the third Segway dealership in Arizona and one of only two dealerships in the Valley.

“The thriving urban lifestyle in Tempe fits perfectly with the vision of Segway,” said Brian Lamacchia, Segway co-owner. “The close proximity to the lake and the incredible architecture of Hayden Ferry Lakeside made our decision for a Tempe location simple.”

Segway provides 90 minute Segway Personal Transporter tours around Tempe Town Lake.

Hayden Ferry Lakeside is nationally recognized as a premier mixed-use development, serving residents, tenants, visitors and patrons from around the greater Phoenix area and beyond. When complete, the project will span more than 43 acres from Mill Avenue to Rural Road along the south shoreline of Tempe Town Lake.
