TEMPE, Ariz. (Friday, June 26, 2009) – Segway of Tempe, the third dealership in Arizona selling the electric powered two-wheel scooter, is now open for business at Hayden Ferry Lakeside in Tempe.

“Segway PTs are both fun to ride and environmentally friendly,” said Brian Lamacchia, Segway of Tempe co-owner. “Pair that with the largest urban body of water in the state and the progressive atmosphere of Tempe, and we provide an experience unlike any other in Arizona.”

In addition to Segway sales, the dealership will provide 90-minute tours around the six-mile perimeter of Tempe Town Lake. Tours depart at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., daily. Two-person tours start at $150.

The price of an individual Segway unit varies between $5,350 and $6,400, depending on which model and options a buyer may choose. Segway of Tempe will stock nine different models in its showroom.

Segway of Tempe is located at Hayden Ferry Lakeside at 74 E. Rio Salado Parkway. The dealership will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends, by appointment, for scheduled tours.

Lamacchia also owns a second Segway dealership in Scottsdale. The third Segway dealership in Arizona is located in Lake Havasu City.
